Which Team has won the Most English Premier League Titles?

Six clubs have won the English Premier League title – Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Leicester City.

Every year since 1992 the top flights teams in England compete to win the premier league title race. Prior to 1992 the top teams competed in the football league (1888-1892) and then the football league top division (1892-1992).

The first ever Premier League season in 1992/93 was won by Manchester United. It was the club’s first title for 26 years. Their title was achieved with a 10-point lead over runners-up Aston Villa. It meant that they qualified for the the Champions League first round, the following season. It was the 8th English Title that Alex Ferguson’s side has won.

Man United have been the most successful team in the new premier league followed by Chelsea with 5 wins (2004–05, 2005–06, 2009–10, 2014–15, 2016–17), Man City (4 wins, 2011–12, 2013–14, 2017–18, 2018–19), Arsenal (3 wins; 1997–98, 2001–02, 2003–04), Blackburn (1 win; 1994–95) and Leicester (1 win; 2015–16).

Whilst Liverpool are won of the successful clubs in England they have never won the new premier league.

Manchester United are the English team to have Won the Most Premier League Titles

Manchester United are the team to have won the most titles, winning a whopping 13 titles over the years. Winning titles in 1992/93, 1993/94, 1995/96, 1996/97, 1998/99, 1999/00, 2000/01, 2002/03, 2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2010/11 & 2012/13.

Most of these wins came after the inception of the Premier League at the start of the 1992/93 season under the leadership of manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

They are also the team to have won the most consecutive PL title wins, winning the title in 1998/99-2000/01 and 2006/07-2008/09. They also had the biggest title-winning margin with 19 points in 2017/18. The Red Devils have also had the smallest PL title-winning margin – 0 point and +8 goal difference in 2011/12.

When you look at all of the English Football Champions which includes the EPL, the football league division one and the football league prior to that Manchester United have won 20 titles and been the runners up 16 times.

Ryan Giggs having played his entire career at United, happened to be in the squad every year that they won the title, so is the player who has won the most titles.

During these awesome years for United, they claimed a few other titles – the most PL wins in a season (32 – 2017/18.), joint PL team with the most home wins in a season (18 – 2010/11), Fewest PL home defeats in a season in 1995/96, 1999/00 & 2010/11 they had zero defeats during the whole season. in 1994/95 they conceded the fewest goals at home in a season.

They have never been relegated from the league since the current system was in operation.

They have also had the biggest home win (9-0 – Manchester United v Ipswich Town (4 March 1995)9-0 – Manchester United v Ipswich Town (4 March 1995)), away win (1-8 – Nottingham Forest v Manchester United (6 February 1999)) and draws (5-5 – West Bromwich Albion v Manchester United (19 May 2013)).
