The English Football League’s Championship Play-offs final takes place at Wembley on the 27th May, at Wembley Stadium in London. It will decide which is the third team to be promoted from the Championship to the Premier League and gain the subsequent financial benefits.

Derby were the second Championship team to secure their place in the Play-Off final. Frank Lampard, the former England and Chelsea player’s side fought back from 2-0 down on aggregate to beat Leeds United 4-3 over two legs and reach Wembley. Their 4-2 victory at Elland Road meant Derby became the first team to recover from losing the first leg of a Championship play-off semi-final at home to reach the final.

West Bromwich Albion, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Derby County finished third to sixth in the Championship this season and after playing in the semi-finals it’s just two teams left in the race for that golden promotion.

Norwich City and Sheffield United secured promotion after being the top two teams in the league.
