Are football betting apps legal in the UK?
Yes, as long as the bookmaker is licensed by the UK Gambling Commission. Every app we list holds a UKGC licence, and you must be 18 or over to use them.
Where do the ratings come from?
They are not our ratings. They are the scores real users give each app on the UK App Store and Google Play, checked on the date shown.
Do I need a new account to use a betting app?
No. If you already have an account with the bookmaker, you can log in to its app with the same details.
Can I use more than one betting app?
Yes. Many people hold accounts with several bookmakers to compare odds and offers.
Which betting app has the best odds for football?
No single app has the best odds on every match. Prices differ from game to game, so it pays to compare two or three apps before you bet. Which betting app has the best sign-up offer?
It depends on how you bet. We list each bookmaker’s standard welcome offer, checked against its own terms. The biggest headline figure isn’t always the best value, so check the minimum odds, qualifying stake and how long the free bets last. See our free bets page.
Do betting apps actually pay out?
Yes. Bookmakers licensed by the UK Gambling Commission must pay out winnings. You’ll need to verify your identity before your first withdrawal, and most apps pay to a debit card or e-wallet within a few hours to a few days.
Can I use a credit card on a betting app?
No. Using credit cards for gambling has been banned in the UK since April 2020. You can deposit with a debit card, bank transfer, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal, depending on the app.
Do betting apps affect your credit rating?
Opening an account and betting doesn’t directly affect your credit score. Bookmakers may run soft checks to confirm your identity, and financial risk checks if you spend more, but soft checks are not visible to lenders. Lenders can still see gambling transactions on your bank statements when you apply for credit.
